About

A century-old Kanpur institution, founded in 1921 and known for most of its life as HBTI before becoming a state university in 2016. Its real distinction is depth in process technology — chemical, oil, plastic, paint, food and biochemical engineering programmes that are rare elsewhere in India and closely tied to Kanpur's manufacturing base. The conventional CSE and IT branches are the ones with the highest cutoffs today.
