About
Founded in 1920 as a nationalist alternative to colonial education and made a central university in 1988, Jamia is now the 4th-ranked university in India (NIRF 2025) on a compact 239-acre campus in Okhla, South Delhi. It is best known for the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, arguably India's most respected film and journalism school, and for its free UPSC coaching academy. Admissions to most programmes are through Jamia's own entrance tests rather than CUET.
