About

Established in 1917, Patna University is the seventh-oldest university in India and the first in Bihar, with constituent colleges such as Patna College and Patna Science College that predate it by decades. It is best known as the training ground for generations of Bihar's political leadership and for one of the country's densest concentrations of civil-services aspirants. Its riverside campus along the Ganga includes the historic Wheeler Senate House.
