About

Founded in Lahore in 1882 and re-established in Chandigarh after Partition, Panjab University is one of North India's largest public universities, with a green 550-acre campus laid out inside Le Corbusier's planned city. It ranks 35th among Indian universities in NIRF 2025 and is especially strong in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry and law. Its Student Centre and campus politics are a Chandigarh institution in their own right.
