About

NEHU is the central university for Meghalaya, established in 1973 and spread over a large hillside campus at Mawkynroh-Umshing on the outskirts of Shillong. It is best known as the region's main centre for postgraduate study in the humanities, social sciences and life sciences, and it affiliates most of Meghalaya's degree colleges. The campus is one of the greenest in the country, sitting among pine forest at around 1,500 metres.
