About
College of Engineering Guindy, founded in 1794, is the oldest technical institution in India and among the oldest outside Europe; it became a constituent college of Anna University when the university was formed in 1978. It is Tamil Nadu's most sought-after government engineering campus, admitting students purely on Class 12 marks through TNEA counselling with cutoffs that routinely touch the maximum. Fees are among the lowest of any top-20 NIRF engineering institution in the country.
