Most people arrive from software engineering or analytics with a strong maths base, or from a Master's programme. Day to day is mostly data cleaning, evaluation and shipping something that survives production, not research. Python, statistics and a real project you can talk through matter more than certificates. Bengaluru and Hyderabad have most of the roles.
