Jadavpur University's Faculty of Engineering and Technology is West Bengal's flagship engineering school and the highest-ranked state university in NIRF's 2025 engineering list at rank 18. It traces its lineage to the swadeshi-era Bengal Technical Institute of 1906 and is known for producing research-minded engineers on a fiercely competitive WBJEE cutoff. Its standout feature is cost: a full four-year B.E. costs less than a single month's fees at most private engineering colleges.
