{"id":"college/fergusson-college-pune","kind":"college","v":1,"title":"Fergusson College, Pune","line":"College · Pune, Maharashtra · NIRF 2025 #57 Colleges · Arts","about":"Founded in 1885 by the Deccan Education Society — whose members included Tilak, Agarkar and Chiplunkar — Fergusson is the college most associated with Pune's identity as a university city, and ranks 57th among Indian colleges in NIRF 2025. Its 65-acre wooded campus and heritage main building are Pune landmarks, and its science departments feed IISERs, IITs and research institutes. Both a Prime Minister and a founding figure of Hindu nationalism passed through its classrooms, which says something about the range of its alumni.","aliases":["Fergusson"],"tags":["state:maharashtra","city:pune","sector:private","stream:science","tier:4","profile:yes","quality:verified","from:campusbinge"],"facts":[{"label":"Type","value":"College","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"Where","value":"Pune, Maharashtra","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"NIRF 2025","value":"#57 Colleges","trust":"verified","source":1},{"label":"Founded","value":"1885","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"UG fee a year (listed)","value":"₹11,135","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"PG fee a year (listed)","value":"₹50,780","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"Website","value":"https://www.fergusson.edu/","trust":"unverified","source":0}],"data":{"has":{"logo":false,"sports":true,"cutoffs":false,"admissions":false,"placements":false,"programmes":false,"examCutoffs":false},"lat":null,"lon":null,"city":"Pune","fees":{"pg":50780,"ug":11135,"note":"Per year, as listed on Shiksha via Campus Binge"},"naac":null,"name":"Fergusson College, Pune","nirf":[{"rank":57,"year":2025,"score":null,"category":"Colleges"}],"tier":4,"type":"Other","email":null,"phone":null,"state":"Maharashtra","hostel":true,"listed":{"city":"Pune","fees":{"pg":50780,"ug":11135},"type":"Other","state":"Maharashtra","ratings":{"overall":8.1},"outcomes":{"medianLpa":null,"placementPct":null},"management":null},"siteId":"fergusson-college-pune","stream":"Science","address":null,"aicteId":null,"pincode":null,"ratings":{"faculty":8.2,"overall":8.1,"shiksha":null,"academic":8.5,"placement":7.1,"socialLife":8.7,"infrastructure":8.5},"streams":["science"],"website":"https://www.fergusson.edu/","district":null,"outcomes":{"note":"Fergusson is a feeder to postgraduate science, IISER/IIT master's programmes, MPSC/UPSC preparation and research institutes rather than a campus-placement college; a placement cell serves mainly the computer science and biotechnology streams.","intake":2500,"placed":null,"graduated":null,"medianLpa":null,"placementPct":null,"avgPackageLpa":null,"highestPackageLpa":null},"prestige":-1143,"tierNote":"Internal Campus Binge tier for sorting, not a ranking.","facilities":[],"management":null,"provenance":{"confidence":"medium","fieldEvidence":{},"profileSource":"campusbinge_200_aug2026","verifiedFields":[],"descriptionSource":"curated_batch_aug2026"},"university":null,"affiliation":"Autonomous, affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University","campusAcres":65,"dataQuality":"verified","established":1885,"accreditation":null,"entranceExams":["merit-based (Class 12)","Fergusson College entrance test (select self-financed programmes)"],"notableAlumni":["Vinayak Damodar Savarkar – nationalist leader and writer","P.
