Visvesvaraya and the fifth in the country. Under the UVCE Act 2021 it separated from Bangalore University and now runs as a state autonomous public university across two campuses — the historic K. R. Circle site in central Bengaluru and a larger one at Jnana Bharathi. Its alumni list is extraordinary for a state college, including a former Atomic Energy Commission chairman and a former DRDO chief.","aliases":["UVCE"],"tags":["state:karnataka","city:bangalore-urban","sector:govt","stream:engineering","tier:4","profile:yes","quality:verified","from:campusbinge"],"facts":[{"label":"Type","value":"College · Government","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"Where","value":"Bangalore Urban, Karnataka","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"Founded","value":"1917","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"Median salary (listed)","value":"₹7 L a year","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"University","value":"UNIVERSITY OF VISVESVARAYA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING","trust":"unverified","source":0},{"label":"Website","value":"https://uvce.ac.in/","trust":"unverified","source":0}],"data":{"has":{"sports":false,"cutoffs":false,"admissions":false,"placements":false,"programmes":false,"examCutoffs":false},"lat":null,"lon":null,"city":"Bangalore Urban","fees":{"pg":null,"ug":null,"note":"Per year, as listed on Shiksha via Campus Binge"},"naac":null,"name":"University Of Visvesvaraya College Of Engineering","nirf":[],"tier":4,"type":"Other","email":null,"phone":null,"state":"Karnataka","hostel":true,"listed":{"city":"Bangalore Urban","fees":{"pg":null,"ug":null},"type":"Other","state":"Karnataka","ratings":{"overall":null},"outcomes":{"medianLpa":7,"placementPct":null},"management":"Government"},"siteId":"cb-1-44643572941","stream":"Engineering","address":null,"aicteId":null,"pincode":null,"ratings":{"faculty":null,"overall":null,"shiksha":null,"academic":null,"placement":null,"socialLife":null,"infrastructure":null},"streams":["engineering"],"website":"https://uvce.ac.in/","district":"Bangalore Urban","outcomes":{"note":"Bengaluru's technology industry sits at the doorstep, so computing students place well through both campus and off-campus routes; core branches place at more modest numbers.","intake":500,"placed":null,"graduated":null,"medianLpa":7,"placementPct":null,"avgPackageLpa":8,"highestPackageLpa":null},"prestige":-100,"tierNote":"Internal Campus Binge tier for sorting, not a ranking.","facilities":[],"management":"Government","provenance":{"confidence":"high","fieldEvidence":{},"profileSource":"campusbinge_400_aug2026","verifiedFields":[],"descriptionSource":"curated_batch_aug2026"},"university":"UNIVERSITY OF VISVESVARAYA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING","affiliation":"State autonomous public university (UVCE Act, 2021; formerly a constituent college of Bangalore University)","campusAcres":65,"dataQuality":"verified","established":1917,"accreditation":"NBA (select UG programmes)","entranceExams":["Karnataka CET (KCET)"],"notableAlumni":["M.
